Inclement Weather Conditions
Arrangements are implemented according to Education Bureau (EDB) instruction when Tropical Cyclones Warning signal or Rainstorm Warning Signal.

When Tropical Cyclone Warning
Signal No. 1 OR
Amber Rainstorm Warning
Signal is issued 

All schools, including kindergartens, are to operate as usual unless advised otherwise.

When Tropical Cyclone Warning
Signal No. 3 or above OR
Red/Black Rainstorm Warning
Signal is issued 

Classes of all schools, including kindergartens, are to be suspended.
  • ​​ If students have already set out for school when Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.3 or above is issued, kindergartens, ensures school premises will be open and arrange staff to look after the students who have arrived at school, until proper arrangements are made for such students to return home at an appropriate time under safe conditions.
  • If Red or Black rainstorm warning is issued during the class periods, school operate as usual until the end of normal school hours and ought to ensure that conditions are safe before allowing students to return home.  
  • Parents could exercise their discretion in deciding whether or not to
    send their children to school having regard to inclement weather conditions. In the
    event of adverse local weather, road, slope or traffic conditions, parents should keep
    their children at home for the sake of safety.
  • School encourages parents to teach their young children how to cope with the inconvenience caused by heavy rain, for example, assisting them to bring an extra pair of socks and shoes to school.
